To life plan or not to life plan

That's a pretty good question!

Well obvs I am a planner but planning for life?

What do you think about that?

Seems a bit much - however what about that life map I created a while back?

Do you need to learn about later life care, about inheritance tax, powers of attorney and all that fun stuff?

In a few years or a few decades perhaps?

One school of thought is that learning the hard way, as in because you have to, isn't ideal. Too often some parts of it are all a bit late and certain expensive or upsetting elements could have been avoided with better knowledge & a bit of a plan in place.

What's your experience so far?

And what about what you want, what you wanted years ago for yourself?

When was the last time you just sat quietly and questioned if you are where you want to be, and if not what is that you actually want?

I don't mean after your 9th gin & tonic we all do that...

Is it too late to do anything about it anyway now?

Jeanette is a wonderful coach specialising in the menopause season of life which isn't just about the menopause experience itself but as a pause to consider where you're at in your life. There's a lot of us who haven't taken the time to consider what we want so we feel dissatisfied with what we've got - seems so obvious doesn't it?

Regardless of whether you're in your 30's, 40's 50's 60's, 70's, I mean come on look at the Queen. And Joanna Lumley!

Are you having fun, living how you wanted to live?

Did that come about from having a bit of a plan, a direction that you followed or a lack of either?

Jeanette kindly invited me onto one of her podcasts which we recorded a week ago. Thought you might like to have a listen on your next dog walk / commute.

Would love your thoughts - what is it about life planning, or budgeting for that matter that you want to improve?

"Would you tell me please, which way I ought to go from here?"

"That depends a good deal on where you want to get to" said the cat.

"I don't much care where - " said Alice

"Then it doesn't matter which way you go" said the cat

" -so long as I get somewhere" Alice added as an explanation

"Oh you're sure to do that" said the cat, "if you only walk long enough"
